"NANOTECHNOLOGY IN SPACE" promotes the intensification of communication between nanotech and space communities and the expansion of this technological field. For this purpose we initiate, coordinate and conduct research projects as well as the development of products which apply nanotechnology in the enviroment of space.
We are very interested in expanding the scope of our communication and cooperation. Please contact us.
SONOS-PROJECT WORKSHOP
SONOS facilitySONOS stands for "Scanning Probe Microscope for Bio and Nanotechnology onboard the International Space Station ISS", and was developed by the Excellence Network for NanoBioTechnology ENNaB of the University of Munich in cooperation with the space company Kayser-Threde, under a contract with the European Space Agency ESA. SONOS is a facility for analysis and insitu observation of experiments on the nanometer scale conducted on the ISS. More. molecules in spaceAt the first workshop in October 2003 approximately 30 scientists from the Netherlands, Italy, Switzerland, Austria and Germany met and discussed the future of research cooperations. The common agreement was: "Nanotechnology in space holds a big potential for space sciences. Instrument development is necessary, especially with regard to utilizing the ISS." Further workshops will follow. More.
